Me’Shae Brooks-Rolling is thrilled about the prospect of being the Executive Producer of Syracuse, NY’s first-ever Financial Empowerment Summit. Over the years, she has attended and presented at other financial literacy education conferences around the country. In 2019, she felt the time was ripe for a vision conceived long ago to finally come to fruition in Syracuse, NY. After a year of planning, the Financial Empowerment Summit was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, just at a time when the pandemic adversely impacted individuals and business owners' personal and business finances. Undeterred, Me'Shae plans to pivot virtually, thereby elevating the visibility of financial literacy education on a national scale.
Prior to becoming a business owner, Me’Shae was the Director of Special Events & Conferences at the Institute for Veterans & Military Families at Syracuse University. She is an alumna of The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University (M.P.A. 1990). In 2018, Me’Shae made history by becoming the first franchise owner of EventPrep, Inc. in New York State and the northeastern territory.
Me’Shae is the author of “How To Save Money & Organize Your Finances: Tales of an Urban Consumer” (2006), as well as a Course Handbook compiling her financial literacy curriculum (2018). She is a Certified Educator in Personal Finance designated by FinCert.org affiliated with the Institute for Financial Literacy. Me'Shae has also received MWBE certification status with the City of Syracuse and New York State and serves on a number of executive boards benefiting Syracuseans. Additionally, Me'Shae is the Executive Director of the Upstate Minority Economic Alliance, Central New York's Regional Minority Chamber of Commerce.
